My Playground - San Felipe de Oña, Ecuador

Where History Lies Beneath Your Feet

This is where I train. Where people discover who they really are. Here, on paths older than any civilization you know, in a landscape that challenges your body while touching your soul at its deepest level.

Over 10,000 years of human presence have shaped these valleys. When you run through morning mist and your feet touch the same ground as countless generations before you, you understand: Training here is more than physical movement – it's participation in a story written since the last ice age.

Running Where People Have Walked for Millennia

My training routes follow historic paths of the Qhapaq Ñan network – a living UNESCO World Heritage site still used in this valley today. Before the Incas, the Cañaris lived here, and before them other peoples whose names are long forgotten but whose traces remain palpable in every step.

These paths aren't museum ruins but lived history. Each trail has been passed down generation to generation, refined, loved. When you train on these routes, you don't just grow physically – you become part of a continuous movement through time and space.

The Cubilán Valley: Where History Rests Underground

The Cubilán Valley holds one of Ecuador's oldest settlements. Many traces lie hidden deep underground, yet when you look with awareness and an open heart, the past comes alive.

There are no monumental ruins here like in Mexico or Cusco. Instead, a silence that lets you feel traces of the past. Paths through valleys that tell of millennia of human presence. Altitude training in landscapes that breathe history.

Every step connects you with those who lived, hunted, and wove their dreams into these mountains long before our modern world existed.

Life Between Worlds

You don't train in a secluded retreat area but in the heart of real life in a traditional Andean community. Indigenous and mestizo families have inhabited these mountains for generations, living a rhythm that is centuries old.

Here you're not just a guest but become part of this flow between tradition and modernity. This is the context for your transformation – authentic, unforced, real.

In the morning you might see a woman in traditional dress leading her sheep to pastures while her grandchild plays with a smartphone. In the evening you hear church bells mixed with wind in eucalyptus trees.

Waterfalls as Power Places

Each waterfall lies on ancient pilgrimage paths and carries its own energy:

Cubilán reveals itself as a 40-meter cascade that unites power and tranquility in perfect balance.

Rodeo hides like a secret in pristine nature – ideal for moments when you need silence.

Yacuambi is studded with prehistoric ceremonial sites and invites deep connection.

These places aren't just beautiful to look at. They're regeneration points on a journey that challenges you physically while nourishing you simultaneously. Here you find not just rest after demanding training, but deep connection to the essence of these ancient mountains.

Cerro Mauta: My Base Camp at 2,350 Meters

From this central point, countless training possibilities extend like spokes of a wheel:

Páramo highlands between 3,000 and 4,000 meters offer altitude training under the occasional wingbeat of condors.

Cloud forests challenge your coordination in mystical atmosphere.

Valley trails of ancestors where you combine strength and mobility training with the presence of millennia-old history.

Summit challenges reward your efforts with breathtaking panoramas that open the heart.

In these mountains, the elements are your training partners. They give you exactly what you're ready to receive from them – no more, but also no less.

Where Heaven and Earth Meet

From 2,350 meters base camp to 4,200 meters highest points, you train at altitudes that make every breath precious. The climate allows year-round training – every weather condition becomes your teacher.

From gentle regeneration to overcoming your limits, everything is possible here.

Your training becomes spiritual practice – not because it's mystified, but because the landscape itself carries this depth. Here you don't just train your body – you nourish your soul with the power of millennia.

The Sacred Reality

This is my dojo. An open-air sanctuary where 12,700 years of human wisdom meets modern transformation methods.

A place where the boundaries between training and transformation dissolve, because both are carried by the same ancient wisdom that flows through every stone, every path, every breath of mountain air.

Where condors make their nests. Where every step connects you to something larger than yourself.
